LONDON’S BIGGEST EVER COMEDY FESTIVAL THROWS DOWN ITS ANCHOR IN MARITIME GREENWICH…

This September take a trip to the beautiful town of Greenwich as it hosts London’s biggest ever Comedy Festival. The best names in the business will be heading South East to make sure your summer ends on a hilarious high!

From 7th - 13th September more than 30 fantastic shows will be crammed into one incredible week as the Maritime streets of Greenwich become awash with comedy gold.

The magnificent Old Royal Naval College will be opening its majestic grounds to a whopping 1,200-seat tent. Here the comic genius of RUSSELL HOWARD, JO BRAND, RICH HALL, MARK WATSON, ARDAL O’HANLON plus many more of the world’s finest stand-ups will be wowing the crowds. The weekend will see even more of the action as plenty of shows to suit all ages take place at this beautiful spot overlooking the Thames. Festival-goers and passers by will be able to revel in the comedy spirit with some free live entertainment while enjoying sumptuous treats from the fully stocked BBQ. And as if all that wasn’t enough, Greenwich’s very own Meantime Brewery will be on hand to serve up their unique selection of delicious beers.

Just around the corner the charming Greenwich Theatre will be housing a sublime series of solo shows. Expect some challenging and razor-sharp wit from such comedy mavericks as MARK THOMAS and ROB NEWMAN, a healthy dose of social satire from the great ARTHUR SMITH and SEAN HUGHES plus a rare sighting of the legendary punk poet Mr JOHN COOPER CLARKE.

In comedy, timing is everything and it just so happens that this year South London’s most legendary comedy club Up The Creek is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. To mark the occasion audiences will be treated to some exclusive appearances as comedy heavyweights line-up to pay their respects to the club that kick-started many of their careers.

With over 15,000 tickets available and even more shows set for the Greenwich Picturehouse and Royal Observatory plus a round up of the stars from the Edinburgh Fringe Greenwich will be the destination of choice for comedy fans everywhere, and all without packing a tent or leaving the M25.
